The Crown of Thorns, 3E Magical Beast, CR 4

As I mentioned yesterday, today's addition to the Weekly Critter Crate, the Crown of Thorns, took some design and organizational cues from 4E. If you need a lightning-fast hunter for your next 3.X edition game, the crate is where to find it.

Hey Ike, I kind of like what you've done with the crown's leap attack. It's not revolutionary or anything, but having all the information right in front of you will make it really easy to run those mechanics, and the format makes it easy to read it as one block.

I think I'll try the crown of thorns in my next session. My players are all 5th or 6th level, so I'll probably pair it with an armoured ogre and have the crown leap in from behind and try to take our archer while the rest of the party is busy.
