Monstrous Double-Feature

Return of the Sand Devil (4e, level 10 Controller) and Bite of the Giant Salamander (3.5, CR 2, great animal companion)--two shows for the price of none. Download them from the Weekly Critter Crate today!

Seriously though, a few of you have been asking why we're favouring 3.5 over 4e, edition-wise. There are a few reasons.

1. We like 3.5 better right now, having not fully embraced the new 4e game style;

2. Designing monsters for 4e often feels like just putting a new skin on existing statistics (kind of like playing different-colored knights in Castle Crashers, which is lots of fun, by the way); and most importantly...

3. 4e monsters seldom turn out exactly how we had conceived them because of the "lego building-blocks" structure that 4e encourages.

However, since there's so much less work involved, creating 4e critters is rather refreshing, so we'll be sure to create more as time goes on. Look for one next week.
